I’ve always had a flair for dressing up and pretty things, so owning a bridal boutique seemed a natural progression from my previous career. I was working as a Litigation Paralegal for several years when I had a dream I opened a bridal boutique. It was hard to resist not making that dream come true; I mentioned it to my husband, we agreed it would be good idea and put the wheels in motion. We opened our doors in August of 2011 in a small strip mall in Valparaiso, before moving to our current home in Chesterton, two years later. Anyone who has owned a small business can likely agree, it’s a very personal attachment. I love my store and care about each and every bride I encounter. I may even surprise past brides when I remember their name years later and even the dress they wore on their special day. I’m proud of my amazing staff and their hard work and passion for what they do, it’s truly a dream job. When I’m not managing the store, I’m home with my husband, my daughters, 10 and 12, and two big dog babies. I love spending time with family, traveling, a long run or a true crime or Netflix binge.
If I haven’t met you yet, I hope you’ll visit us soon and let us share in your say yes moment!
I've been working at HCTD for five years now, but first I was a customer. I visited the boutique with a friend who found her dress at the boutique and I instantly fell in love with the ambiance. As soon as I got home that evening, I, of course, stalked Facebook looking at all the beautiful bridal pictures and posts and came across a job posting. It almost felt meant to be. I instantly applied and had the job within a few days! Before HCTD, I worked as a Legal Assistant Clerk in a downtown law firm, which is why I think Aubrey and I connect so well; we both love organization and analyzing every little detail. Switching careers is one of the best things I have ever done because I truly consider this my dream job! I love the ornate gowns, helping future brides find their dream dress and sharing a special moment with not only them, but their closest family and friends, it is such a fulfilling feeling to bring their visions to life. I always strive to make everyone who walks through our doors feel special. When I'm not working, I'm a mom of two little ones, who keep me busy and a wife of a hardworking husband.
I hope to help you feel at ease and your most beautiful on your bridal journey! See you soon!
I’m Ariel and I’m one of the stylists at HCTD. My passion for bridal started on a trip to Italy. I was standing on the top of the Spanish Steps in Rome, which is their city hall, and I saw couple after couple enter the chapels, paying close attention to each bride in her gown. The feeling I got was something I couldn’t even describe other than to say that I truly felt like I found my calling. So, I got home and started applying to different bridal boutiques and started working as a stylist. It is a true joy to be a part of something so special for my brides and the friends and family she brings with for the experience. I take immense pride in fully styling my brides in not only her gown but her accessories to create a complete vision of herself to fall in love with before her big day. I couldn’t imagine doing anything else and am so fortunate to be working with such a great team and fabulous gowns at HCTD. When I’m not at work, you can find me spending time with my incredible boyfriend, traveling to new places with my friends, or babysitting my cousins and spending time with family.
Ever since I was a little girl, I have been obsessed with weddings, and would dream about what my big day would look like. After becoming a HCTD Bride myself, I fell in love with HCTD and the staff! When an opening presented itself to actually work for HCTD, I was over the moon. By day, I am an HCTD sales assistant, and I love being able to work with brides to help make all their wedding dress dreams come true. By night, I work as an Emergency Room nurse, but I lovingly call HCTD “my fun job!” In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends, family, and 3 fur kids.
